Over the past few weeks, fans have been getting updates about what's in store for the next season of "Longmire." One of these is the possible romantic relationship between main character Walt Longmire and Deputy Vic Moretti.

Rumors about these two pairing up emerged in last year after Hunt Baldwin, the developer and producer of the Netflix series said that season 5 could explore the sexual tension between these two characters.

After all, in the previous seasons, Moretti led a married life. But, in season 4, Moretti was able to finalize her divorce, which means she can now pursue a new relationship with another person.

"She's been married for all of these years and that's obviously defined her and prevented her from pursuing certain things," Baldwin told Yahoo! TV. "Having finally accepted the end of her marriage, we go into season 4 with Vic absolutely ready to take a different look at her life romantically."

"Obviously, I think that most fans know that there's some interesting tension between her and Walt," he added. "But there are also some new characters entering the world that are going to complicate that."

Aside from being single, Vic will also become closer to Walt next season since she will lead the investigation on who attacked him in the finale.

But then again, after rumors about the possible romantic relationship between these two characters emerged, some fans objected to the idea, saying that the age difference makes the whole thing a bit awkward.

Also, some of them may be rooting for Donna Monaghan's relationship with Walt to develop further in the fifth season. However, things between them may become complicated in future episodes since earlier this year, it was reported that Sterling Beaumon has signed on to join the cast of "Longmire," Parent Herald reported.

According to the report, he will play the obnoxious prep-school kid named Andrew Price. He will be introduced as an intruder in Monaghan's home. But, one Walt and Donna confront him, he will claim that the latter is his mother.

It's probably safe to say that this will become a major plot point in season 5 and might even have effects on the relationship between Walt, Donna and Vic.
