‘Longmire’ Updates and Rumors: Is Season 5 Going To Be the Netflix Series’ Last?

New rumors suggest that Netflix might cancel the crime drama series "Longmire" after its fifth season. Although it is not yet clear if this is true, it would not be the first time that the show became the center of cancellation reports.

Rumors about the show getting pulled out began earlier this year after creators of the show posted a still from one of its episodes on its official Facebook account. Fans of the series immediately reacted to the post, mainly expressing how much they love the show. Other also hoped that Netflix would change its format and release it weekly, instead of by seasons.

One Facebook user, however, claimed that Netflix is preparing to take "Longmire" off the air after its fifth season.

"I hate to break it to you but Netflix is dropping it too," the user named Kathy Palmiter posted commented. "This will be the last season."

Others argued that Netflix will probably not cancel "Longmire" after season 5 because of its huge fan base. Others even said that if the online streaming service drops the show, they will most likely cancel their subscriptions.

However, if the show doesn't work out of Netflix, it seems season 5 could be the last time they'll see new episodes of the show. After all, the streaming service already served as the show's savior after it was cancelled on its original network A&E after the third season.

In November of 2014, Netflix picked up the show for the fourth season. It then announced in September of last year that the series has been renewed for a fifth season.

As for what fans can expect in the upcoming season of the show, it has been speculated that a bit of romance might develop between main character Walt Longmire and Victoria Moretti.

According to fan theories, the sheriff will eventually fall for his deputy because of the amount of time they spend together. However, some viewers didn't take the rumor lightly. They argued that because of the age difference and overall lack of chemistry, pairing up Longmire and Moretti will look awkward and will probably not work.
