In spite of the 2015 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro being unveiled at a special Apple presentation last spring, many keep reporting that the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro won't be unveiled until June of 2016. Why that particular date? Apple holds a big event known as the WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) at that time, and this could be the thing that Apple will announced, while March could be saved for the possible iPad 3, Apple Watches, and a smaller version of the iPhone. This is what is known about the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, Price, and Rumors.
As far as the release date rumor, there was one last fall saying that the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro would be unveiled around Black Friday of last year. This early release date didn't happen, so it looks like the rumor pendulum has swung the other way and now we're expecting a later release date.
It is still quite possible that the new MacBooks will make an appearance at whatever event Apple is planning in spring, but they might not be center stage. Last year, at Apple's "Spring Forward" event, much of the presentation was all about the Apple Watch.
A lot has been said regarding the release date of the MacBook 2016, and a recent article from Gotta Be Mobile talked about how consumers will truly want the 2016 MacBook Pro. This might not be surprising, but many are seeing a thinner MacBook for this year. The 12-inch MacBook that was released earlier last year just before the new 2015 MacBook Pros were released was very thin, and only had a USB-C port with headphone jack. It is possible that USB-C could be the way to go for this era of the MacBook.
Parent Herald reports that a Retina MacBook Pro is set to be released this year, and this one is most anticipated. This type of MacBook is said to be powered by a Skylake processor, which is said to make the device's battery last much longer as well as increasing the graphic capabilities, not to mention an overall performance boost. It is also possible that the MacBook Air could add three more products to the lineup which include the 12-inch, 13-inch, and the 15-inch version.
If a lot of these rumors are true, then Apple's laptop is getting a complete redesign. This would probably mean that the delay would be good, if consumers get themselves a better-looking product. So yes, the new MacBooks could be arriving later this year. As for a price, the current models received a bit of a markdown around the holiday season, so one would imagine that the price of the new ones would be slightly, if not a little more, higher.
