Marco Rubio has officially announced that he has dropped out of the presidential race after losing the primary elections in Florida to rival Donald Trump. According to the Florida senator, even though he lost the primaries on Tuesday, he believes God has other plans for him.

Prior to the primary elections, Rubio and his camp were excepting to win in Florida given that it's the senator's home state. But, as officially indicated in the Polls, the majority vote of Florida went to Trump, Breitbart reported.

This clearly means that Rubio, who was previously referred to as the savior of the Republican Party, no longer has a chance to lead the country following the upcoming presidential elections.

Despite the loss, Rubio remained optimistic as he addressed his supporters in Miami.

"While we are on the right side, this year, we will not be on the winning side," he said during his exit speech according to the Blaze. "Today my campaign is suspended. God makes no mistakes, and He has big plans for all of us."

It is not yet clear what Rubio plans to do now that he's out of the race but after he announced that he will be running for president a few months ago, he said that he has no intention to return to the Senate.

Rubio then ended his speech by asking God to watch over the public, the Republican party, the remaining presidential candidates and the country.

The senator's departure from the campaign trail means that only Trump, John Kasich, and Ted Cruz remain as the candidates for the GOP. The business tycoon and senator are currently tied in Missouri while Governor Kasich unsurprisingly emerged victorious in his home state of Ohio.

As for the democrats, Hillary Clinton is currently leading after winning the primary elections in Illinois, Carolina, Ohio and Florida. As noted by CNN, winning in these states is crucial for the candidate due to their diverse political environments. Her victories in these areas could come in handy if she emerges as the Democratic candidate for the upcoming elections in November.

With her recent wins, this means Bernie Sanders is trailing behind Clinton by over two million votes.
