If you are not familiar with the show Married at First Sight, a typical season features three couples who agree to marry when they first meet. These couples are paired by four experts, and, after about a month of living together as a married couple, they can choose to stay together or get divorced. The show is having a good run on FYI, and even branched out its season 2 to A&E. The following is a Season 2 Finale Recap as well as news of Married at First Sight Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers, and Cast. The problem is that a recent update of a Season 2 couple is creating doubt on whether the show will be coming back.
It is difficult to talk about Married at First Sight without first addressing an obvious elephant in the room, as it were. According to the NY Post, Jessica Castro's groom, Ryan De Nino made a murder vow to her.
A Queens Family Court petition filed Friday states that De Nino stated things like "I will break you into f___ing pieces" and "I will break your dad into pieces. I will make your whole family disappear - and your f-ing dog-ass sister's boyfriend." De Nino was even said to be caught on a live microphone saying: "She's f-ing dead. When I get back to Brooklyn, she's f-ing dead, this girl."
These legal papers say that Castro caught De Nino cheating on her on Valentine's Day. Apparently, the producers of Married at First Sight took the death threats pretty seriously, and provided Castro with security personnel. De Nino has been charged with harassment, menacing, and stalking, and the court referee Julie Stanton ordered De Nino to stay away from his wife until the hearing on July 13th.
What is interesting is that Castro's lawyer, celebrity divorce attorney Marc Rapapport, is subpoenaing A&E because he suspects that executives in charge of Married at First Sight knew about De Nino's volatile nature yet cast him anyway "to add sensationalism to the series".
According to the International Business Times, Season 2 of Married at First Sight ended the same way as Season 1: Two couple stayed together, while one sought divorce. For Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino, they started off very attracted to each other and were the first couple to be intimate. They soon started fighting after that, but they worked on their communication issues and decided to remain together.
So I suppose the most obvious question is what is in store for Married at First Sight Season 3. I'll go ahead and start with the release date, because there really isn't one. Even When Will seems to state that the release date is To Be Announced, and doesn't even go into any detail of if there will be a third season.
Now that there is a lot of controversy between one of the couples, it makes fans of the show wonder if Married at First Sight will be back for another season. Many reality shows like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and the more recent 19 Kids and Counting were pulled due to potential scandals, and a case like this could easily put Married at First Sight on the chopping block.
