Racing legend and seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher is recovering at a custom-built clinic that was built on the grounds of his home overlooking Lake Geneva from a serious head injury from a skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013.

But while Michael's wife Corinna is guarding the progress of his recovery like a hawk, Schumacher's children are carrying out the family legacy and making names for themselves in their respective sports.

Michael's 16-year-old son Mick is expected to debut at Germany's famous Nuerburgring circuit in the Formula Four series. Zee News reported that sister Gina, mom Corinna and uncle Ralf Schumacher are flying to Neubergring to watch Mick compete in the Formula 4 race tournament.

Mick is ranked 15th of 26 racers with four races left this season in the Formula Four. He has recently graduated from the go-karting circuit and will make his first season in the Nuerburgring circuit Yahoo! Sports.

Another Schumacher who is making the family name proud is of course the 18-year-old Gina who is wowing the crowd in showjumping. The Daily Mail, Gina made quite a show during last Friday's cin Aachen, Germany as she dazzled the crowd with her performance riding her seven-year-old stallion Sharp Dressed Shiner. The FEI competition requires riders to navigate their horses a series pattern of spins, stops and circles.

"She was very honored and had a lot of fun," Michael Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm commented on Gina's performance.

The Straits Times said Gina rode Sharp Dressed Shiner for the first time the night before the tournament but she showed great composure and skill that impressed the crowd by showcasing her reining talent, a western-style riding contest.

 Earlier this year, the daughter of Michael Schumacher bagged the FEI European Reining Championships for Juniors and Young Riders competition championship held at the CS Ranch owned by Corinna. The tournament was participated by 46 riders from nine countries.

German coach Nico Hoermann praised Gina whom she predicted of further improving as she gains more experience. Hoermann described Gina as one of the sports' greatest talents and added that the girl is on his radar for the future. But Kehm said Gina is still not sure whether to pursue a professional equestrienne career, FMT News reported.

With the guidance and tutelage of their mom Corinna, it is easy to predict that Schumacher's progenies would become champions in their respective sports in the near future.

Meanwhile, nearly 19 months since Michael Schumacher's tragic skiing accident, fans are still eagerly waiting for any development on his health condition. This is despite the total news blackout imposed by Corinna regarding the Formula One champion's recovery.

Former Ferrari President, Luca di Montezemolo said that Michael Schumacher, who won 91 races in his storied F1 career, and listed as the wealthiest driver ever to have raced in Formula One, amassing a fortune estimated to be over $791.3 million, is "fighting his hardest race" right now.

Di Montezemolo was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame last month and had dedicated his award to his "great friend Michael."
