Point guard Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves is certainly having a rough season after coming from a four-game losing streak, with the latest loss delivered by the Golden State Warriors. After admitting that his team is "playing with no heart," Rubio could eventually exit Minnesota by requesting for a trade.

Rubio made the saddening statement following the Detroit Pistons 117-90 victory over the Timberwolves. Following that match, Rubio addressed reporters to express his thoughts about his team.

"We can accept making mistakes and [when we] don't make shots," he said according to ESPN. "Playing with no heart, with no desire, it's just awful. Right now, it's just bad."

"And it seems like we don't care," he added.

On Dec. 11, the Timberwolves were able to put up a fight against the Warriors but still came up short in ending the game.

Due to the team's consecutive losses, and the apparent lack of motivation from his teammates, Rubio could look to ending his long career in Minnesota by requesting for a trade this season. Despite being with the team since 2011, playing as if he's the only player who wants to win games, can certainly take a huge toll on Rubio.

This could eventually push the player to seek other options by joining a franchise that has strong and motivated players.

Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau is also becoming increasingly worried about the performance of his team and has noted that he plans to evaluate everything.

"I'm going to keep coming," he said. "I don't go away. I'm going to look at everything, re-examine. Something's being missed. It's got to change."
"Something is not right," he added. "We have to find the answer to that."

It has been widely reported that one of Thibodeau's options for the team is a massive roster change. Through draft picks, trades and the free agency, the Minnesota franchise is looking to acquire new players in order to create a stronger lineup. Of course, this also means letting go of some of the squad's veterans.

Even though Rubio has been a pillar within the Minnesota organization, he could still serve as one of the team's trade options if the franchise decides that he will not fit well with the lineup it has in mind.
