With the release of the Motorola Moto G and X phone series, there has been a lot of demand as to what will be in store for the 3rd Generation or 2015 Moto G and Moto X series. Fortunately, Motorola has recently handed out press information for the release date of the 2015 Moto G and Moto X series of smartphones, but no word on an official release date. The announcement for these phones will be so very soon, but there might be another device announced from Motorola with the Moto 360 2.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, it would appear that Motorola will confirm a new lineup of smartphones for 2015 to be announced on July 28th. Motorola has sent out invites formally inviting the press to see its new smartphones in New York City on that particular date. There have been a lot of leaks as far as what to expect with these mobile devices.
The Moto G 3rd Generation
It is believed that the new Moto G will have a 5-inch 720p HD display with a quad-core processor and 1 to 2 GB of RAM, coming in 8 or 16 GB storage configurations, a better than 13 Megapixel camera, and a decent size 2,700 mAh battery with Android 5.1.1 right out of the box. Other rumored specs include a Quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, Dual front facing speakers, and 4G LTE. It looks like a recent post on Engadget has pretty much confirmed that thanks to a picture from a Brazilian retailer with a recent unboxing.
There is a report from a leakster on Twitter @evleaks that this year Motorola is going to make the Moto G even better. This leakster says that the 3rd Generation will support Moto Maker, as well as the entire lineup of Motorola smartphones in 2015.
The Moto X 3rd Generation
As for the Moto X, it could be the "best smartphone ever" according to a separate report from Gotta Be Mobile. It will also have a 2K resolution display, a bigger battery, an improved camera, and other new features to compare with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6. A separate report from Engadget has revealed that this phone will be a whopping 5.5 inches, also thanks to a leaked photo. These photos revealed a possible front-facing flash as well.
It is possible that there will be another version of the Moto X revealed known as the Moto X Sport. This is a 5.2 or 5.5 inch Moto XL smartphone that will be "more rugged, have a rubber and aluminum design, and be fully waterproof, not just water-resistant".
The Moto 360 2 Smartwatch
In addition to the long-awaited 3rd generation of the Moto G and the Moto X, there could be another new mobile device announced that the July 28th event. This would be the Moto 360 2 smartwatch, and according to Wareable, it could have a 360 x 360 fully circular display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a 400 mAh battery.
With the unveiling happening on July 28th, the official release dates for the 3rd Gen of the Moto G and Moto X will follow. The Moto 360 2 could also be announced, so this is just wait-and-see time.
