Know the schedule of NASCAR races next year

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this year has undergone some numerous changes, but the schedules and venue for 2016 campaign have been left largely unchanged. Here is what we know so far about NASCAR 2016 schedule, race dates, and major competitions.

For its sixth season, the campaign has very few changes regarding adjusted green flag times and date swaps.

One of the interesting things to watch next year is the August race at Michigan International Raceway. The race will be moved two weeks later to August 28, to give way to NBC's broadcast of Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero. Also, the race in April at Richmond International will be moved to a Sunday afternoon schedule, after years of being run on Saturday night.

The 23 locations that host Sprint Cup Series events and the 24 tracks that have XFINITY Series will remain locked-in as part of the overall NASCAR campaign until the end of 2020 season.

It is interesting to note that the Sprint Cup Series did not change its 36-race schedule since 2011. On another hand, the Camping World Truck Series schedule will be delayed.

On Feb 13, the Sprint Cup Series will be launched at Daytona International Raceway. Qualifying for the Daytona 500 will take place on the following afternoon with the Can-Am Duels qualifying races set for February 18. Moreover, the Great American Race is set to be opened on February 21.
