Christian singer Natalie Grant has revealed that she was moved to tears this past Sunday, when her 8-year-old twin daughters were unexpectedly baptized by her husband, producer Bernie Herms, at her home church in Nashville, Tennessee.

In a touching Facebook post shared with fans, the 43-year-old singer/songwriter told the story: "I knew today would be an amazing day, but I had no idea it would be a day I would never forget," she wrote.

"I was excited to sing my new song Clean, for baptisms at my home church Crosspoint in Nashville. I love baptism Sunday. I cry every single time," the Dove-Award winning singer continued. "But what I didn't know is that my twin daughters Gracie & Bella would unexpectedly decide to get baptized today."

While the little girls made the decision to follow Jesus several years ago, they hadn't had the courage to be baptized, Grant explained.

"I never wanted to pressure them and wanted it to be a decision they came to on their own. And they came to it together. THIS MORNING. And the icing on the cake? My husband got to baptize them."

The Held singer also shared a sweet photo collage of the special day, which included a picture of herself weeping with joy and two pictures of her husband baptizing the children.

"A moment in their journey with Christ and I will never forget it!!!" she wrote.

Grant, who is preparing for the release of her latest album, Be One, often shares personal reflections and words of encouragement with fans via social media. Last week, she opened up about her constant struggle to relinquish control of her life to Christ.

Along with posting a video of a live acoustic performance of her new song, King Of The World, Grant penned a candid note that spoke honestly about her tendency to want to take control based on fear.

"So ... I have control issues. I like to try and control outcomes. And most the time I make my plans and hope God will just go along with it. Furthermore - I have fear issues. And I'm pretty sure many of my control issues and my fear issues go hand in hand. But when did I forget HE has and will ALWAYS BE the King Of The World? He is still on the throne. When I look at what is happening in the world at large and my own little world, none of it takes Him by surprise."

Grant also took the time to encourage anyone who may have similar struggles. "Let the truth that He has got you in the palm of His hand settle in your heart and bring you peace," she concluded.

The singer also made headlines in 2014 after walking out of the Grammy Awards early following a series of performances she said conflicted with her faith.

While Grant never explicitly revealed which performance prompted her to leave the event, many speculated that it was one conducted by pop star Katy Perry, who was surrounded by demons as she danced around an upside down broomstick before being encircled by fire during a performance of her song Dark Horse.

Amid backlash, Grant explained her decision on Facebook: "I NEVER said I left during any particular performance. I only said I left early. I never pointed out any one particular performance; I only said I had many thoughts about the entire show, which were best left inside my head and that is where they will stay."

The singer explained: "What I DID say is this: I am honored to be a part of the Christian music community. I've had many people throughout my career ask why I never tried to go into mainstream music and last night was a beautiful reminder that I love singing about Jesus and FOR Jesus."

"I've judged no one. I hate no one. And I believe that every person has been created in the image of God. I will never stand on a street corner and wave a sign, I won't use my platform to engage in political arguments that will only divide and not unite. I will continue to pray that my life will be my message. I do have my own personal convictions that I live by, and I will continue to work out my own salvation with fear and trembling before the Lord. (Philippians 2:12)."

She added: "My last thought:' I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus for it is the power of God who brings salvation to ALL who believe.' Romans 1:16."
