Industry observer Gamepur said players of the game can exploit the VC glitch to harvest and farm virtual currencies faster. VCs are crucial when playing NBA 2K games because it allows players to power-up players, buy better gears and enjoy other NBA perks. The report said the glitch allows players to harvest VCs faster.

There are two ways for players to exploit the VC glitch, depending on the game modes, the report said. Using the fan favorite MyCareer mode, players can harvest VCs by setting up the game to at least a Hall of Fame difficulty and then select either 6- or -12-minute quarters. Playing the game under these setting will enable players to get virtual currency rewards with no set limits. What's more, there is no need to repeat the process to gain more VC under these setting as simulated games net about 600 virtual currency per game.

Another way of earning high amount of virtual currency is via MyPark online mode. By playing in a three-man Got Next Spot and then quitting the game, players can accumulate virtual currency. But players must be prepared on the consequences particularly damaged reputation because this mode is played in an online feature.
