As the NBA Season for 2016 comes to a close soon, many players of NBA 2K16 are getting pretty excited for the imminent release of NBA 2K17.  It is apparent that 2K Games seeks to top itself after the release of last year's model, and a lot of the focus has been on the Legend Edition with Kobe Bryant.  This is the latest news  on NBA 2K17 Release Date Legend Edition and Standard Edition, plus recent updates on NBA 2K16 Roster Update and Locker Codes.

We have previously reported that Kobe Bryant, who just played his last game, will be on the cover of NBA 2K17, the Legend Edition.  The price of this edition is $79.99, and will feature some physical items like a limited edition Kobe poster, two Kobe Panini trading cards, as well as a Black Mamba game controller skin.  It will also feature some digital content such as 30,000 of Virtual Currency, a My TEAM Bundle (with 3 packs of guaranteed Kobe limited use card), Nike Kobe 11 retirement shoes, Kobe #8 Mitchel and Ness Jersey, and a Kobe hoodie.

That is just the Legend Edition, which is really dominating the news about NBA 2K17.  So what of the release date for both versions of the game?  According to Gotta Be Mobile, NBA 2K17 should be arriving sometime in September, ahead of the fall gaming season.

So, it would appear that fans of the NBA 2K series will have to wait for the next iteration, but that doesn't mean that they have to be bored.  The International Business News reported that NBA 2K16 just received a new roster update listing some of the changes in player ratings as of April 22.  For example, San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard moved up one point, gaining an overall rating of 93.  Other athletes that have gone up one point include Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, Hassan Whiteside, LaMarcus Aldridge, Al Horford, Kevin Love, and Al Jefferson.  Players Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague went up two points.

Some players actually had their overall rating go down a point, such as Blake Griffin, Raymond Felton, Kemba Walker, Jae Crowder, Nicolas Batum, Tim Duncan, and Zach Randolph.  Most NBA 2K16 players are also interested in Locker Codes, and there are ways to get them, such as this NBA 2K16 Codeshack here

Considering that those that pre-ordered NBA 2K16 had an Early Tip-Off release, it is not clear whether 2K Games will be bringing back that particular deal.  The 2K Store is currently open in taking orders for the NBA 2K17 Legend Edition, and versions of the game for the Xbox 360 and PS3 are actually going to be available.

Those that desire a cheaper version of the game and are Amazon Prime members should pre-order it now, as there will be a savings of 20 percent.  A standard edition of the game is $59.99.
