The Chicago Bulls have always been favorites in the NBA - a fact that has become apparent in the previous season despite the injuries incurred by Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson. The previous NBA season did not go to waste for the Chicago Bulls though, as rising star Jimmy Butler proved to be a formidable foe to the rest of the teams and a highly effective leader in the absence of veteran basketball star Derrick Rose. Moreover, the match between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers saw Jimmy Butler rising above the expectations of the NBA community and actually managing to go head to head against the great LeBron James.

As the regular season of the NBA draws nearer, the Chicago Bulls are busy trying to build a squad strong enough to withstand yet another grueling season that will see them face the likes of David Lee from the Boston Celtics, John Wall from the Washington Wizards, Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors, Greg Monroe of the Milwaukee Bucks, Thaddeus Young of the Brooklyn Nets and of course, LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Moreover, the rumored recovery of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love will undoubtedly make the NBA Eastern Conference champions more formidable than ever.

With these concerns in mind, the Chicago Bulls could not help but feel overwhelmed with the good news that star player Pau Gasol has managed to work through his injuries and is now back with a clean bill of health - a piece of information that the NBA team badly needed to hear especially with the still unknown fate of Taj Gibson. In fact, Pau Gasol proved that his comeback is worth waiting for by bagging the MVP award in the recently concluded EuroBasket tournament. "We won the championship by paying attention to details, rolling our sleeves up in defense and pulling together all the time," shared an ecstatic Pau Gasol following the victory of Spain in the EuroBasket finals, according to Marca.com. The Chicago Bulls star added, "I have a feeling of complete satisfaction, happiness and pride. It is one of the triumphs I have enjoyed most. No one reckoned we had much of a chance."

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls also made decisions that indicate the NBA team's recognition of the age and health of its players. In the latest update from the Chicago Bulls, it was revealed that free agent Jordan Crawford will join the training camp this year. Prior to entering the Chicago Bulls locker room, Jordan Crawford played for the Atlanta Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks. Although the basketball star enters the Chicago Bulls training camp with hopes of becoming a permanent teammate to Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose, it looks like sports analysts do not see him as a potential member of the NBA team. Paul Steeno of Fan Sided pointed out, "Unfortunately, Jordan Crawford's inefficient catch-and-pop style of play will offer little value to a team that doesn't need back end of the rotation guys taking shots away from their best players during the upcoming season."
