The journey of Tristan Thompson with the Cleveland Cavaliers appears to be at a standstill, with both sides choosing to stand their ground and attempting to let the other view things through their perspectives. With this current situation, it looks like the NBA team is opting to consider other basketball stars to add to their roster - a move that might make the question of whether or not LeBron James needs Tristan Thompson to help the Cleveland Cavaliers dethrone Stephen Curry's Golden State Warriors a moot point. The latest NBA star to join Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and JR Smith in the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room is Nick Minnerath.

The newly minted member of the Cleveland Cavaliers training camp will be joining hopeful LeBron James' teammates Jared Cunningham, DJ Stephens and Quinn Cook. Nick Minnerath, who boasts of a 6'9" wingspan, played from France in the previous NBA season. His contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers is reportedly a non-guaranteed deal, according to Chris Haynes of the Northeast Ohio Media Group. Nick Minnerath was an undrafted star in 2013, who came from Detroit Mercy. At 27, he had been part of the first team of the All-Horizon League.

With yet another potential addition to the Cleveland Cavaliers roster, the stalemate between the NBA team and Tristan Thompson appears to be getting increasingly less tense as the group seem to continue proving their conviction that the Canadian star does not deserve the max contract he and his agent have been fighting for the entire offseason.

In fact, the Cleveland Cavaliers saw a number of interesting additions throughout the NBA offseason. LeBron James saw to it that Kevin Love remains loyal to the Cleveland Cavaliers - a team up that could prove to be potentially fatal to the championship reign of the Golden State Warriors. Another notable addition to the NBA team is Mo Williams. The entry of Sasha Kaun and Richard Jefferson also leveled up the excitement of the fans and followers of the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

Moreover, injury updates of Kyrie Irving are promising these days. The Cleveland Cavaliers star has been quite vocal about his optimism regarding his return to the hardwood court alongside LeBron James. "I'm feeling great," shared Kyrie Irving via ESPN. He added, "I'm taking my time with it. Obviously, it was a terrible injury but thank God I had the summer to start rehabbing and I'm definitely progressing in the right way. Whatever my timeline is, it'll be for the betterment of the team and for us to also compete for a world championship at the end of the season."
