The New Orleans Pelicans have been plagued with injuries throughout the NBA offseason. With the start of the regular basketball season drawing nearer, the New Orleans Pelicans appear to be getting less confident on the ability of its NBA stars to perform well this year. While Anthony Davis garnered a number of votes of confidence in the NBA community following the release of the General Manager Survey earlier this week, beating LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, James Harden of the Houston Rockets, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors for the choice basketball star to build a franchise around, the rest of the New Orleans Pelicans have yet to show promise. It could be recalled that the Western Conference saw a very strong showing from Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans last year. It remains to be seen though if the same strength could be exhibited by the NBA team this regular season.

"It's tough," shared Anthony Davis, referring to the injuries the New Orleans Pelicans are facing mere days prior to the commencement of the regular NBA season, according to ESPN. The power forward further said, "Now with Tyreke [Evans] going down, we won't have our complete team until January sometime. It's tough because you're coming in with high expectations, thinking everybody is healthy. And then, stuff happens."

Tyreke Evans is reportedly anticipated to be out of the action for roughly six to eight weeks. Reports claim that the New Orleans Pelicans guard underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. This is the second time Tyreke Evans goes through the procedure since his first encounter with the injury in May. Given the projected recovery period of the New Orleans Pelicans star, Tyreke Evans could only mount a comeback by late November or early December. With this presumed schedule in mind, the New Orleans Pelicans star is expected to miss out on the first 14 basketball matches this NBA season.

Apart from Tyreke Evans, the New Orleans Pelicans are also facing injury issues with Jrue Holiday. Sources claim that the star point guard has yet to recover from the fracture injury of his right tibia. With the recent injury of Tyreke Evans and the still ailing Jrue Holiday, the New Orleans Pelicans are left with no star player other than Anthony Davis. However, veteran NBA star Nate Robinson had been added to the roster recently. The entry of the former Los Angeles Clippers prompted rumors that Jrue Holiday might be heading toward the trading block, specifically to the Sacramento Kings locker room. At the moment, no official confirmation regarding the matter has been released but a number of fans are convinced that DeMarcus Cousins might be welcoming a new member in his Sacramento Kings squad soon.
