According to sources, the Phoenix Suns are actively looking for possible trade deals for Brandon Knight. Although it is not yet clear if the Brooklyn Nets have already made an offer, acquiring Knight could be a good move for the team as it will give Jeremy Lin a strong teammate.

As noted by The Valley of the Suns, Knight getting traded by the Suns seems inevitable especially given the team's current situation.

Knight officially joined the Phoenix squad last year through three-way trade involving the Philadelphia 76ers and his former team the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, due to the performance of breakout star Devin Booker, it seems the Suns have started to realize that Knight has become expendable. In fact, during this year's training camp, Booker was named by the team as its new starting shooting guard, which was Knight's former position.

Now that the Suns feel that having Knight on the lineup feels redundant due to the presence of Booker, the team could eventually decide to trade him away. Currently, the Suns have not yet engaged in trade talks with other teams in the league but one squad that would most likely benefit from this deal would be the Nets, according to Hoops Habit.

For this year, the Nets' starting guard is Lin. But, unlike what is currently happening in the Suns, having Knight on the Nets' roster will not become redundant. Instead, it could even boost the team's offense as it will provide Lin with an effective reliever or partner on the court.

Playing for Brooklyn will also be good for the young Knight due to the guidance he will receive from head coach Kenny Atkins, the man credited for helping Lin become a breakout star during his time with the New York Knicks.

In addition, given the Nets' current lineup, they should seriously consider trading for Knight. For one, they are currently lacking talent in the roster and they can't rely on the free agency pool to change this. Also, the Nets have already experienced what it's like playing without Lin when he got injured. Having a guy like Knight could change all of this and boost the team's performance.
