The Boston Celtics have been one of the few teams that remained relatively quiet throughout the NBA offseason. As the NBA regular season approaches its starting date, fans and followers of the Boston Celtics are excited to witness just how much the NBA team have improved and the strategies by which the group intend to steal the crown from the Golden State Warriors - that is, after they beat out the rest of the title hopefuls such as the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, Dwyane Wade's Miami Heat and Derrick Rose's Chicago Bulls.

One of the most notable additions in the roster of the Boston Celtics is Jae Crowder. Following a stint at the Dallas Mavericks locker room, the NBA star entered the Boston Celtics' roster in exchange for a draft pick. Although the inclusion of Jae Crowder in the Boston Celtics did not encourage a lot of fanfare, the former Dallas Mavericks star gradually became one of the most dependable players in the roster and has been identified as the go-to man of the team. With his improvements in mind, the upcoming NBA season might see the Boston Celtics small forward as one of the main men in the team - a role that will definitely add pressure to the basketball star.

"In a very short period of time, Crowder may have already established himself as the most complete player on the roster and all of a sudden the pressure may be mounting with elevated expectations," observed Joshua Bateman of Fan Sided. The sports analyst added, "The Celtics need Crowder to be a leader on the defensive end and they need him to improve on the offensive end." Bateman further noted, "The pressure is on Crowder because they will depend on him to elevate their defense." He went on to share, "The Celtics need Crowder to maintain his defense and they need him to elevate his offense and with no replacement options all the pressure falls on his shoulders."

With these responsibilities in mind, Jae Crowder will need a backup for the said roles. The entry of rookie Jordan Mickey could potentially be the answer to this requirement. As shot blocker Jordan Mickey enters the Boston Celtics locker room, the NBA team appear to be looking for ways to curb the scoring of their opponents while providing Jae Crowder enough freedom to rake in points.

"Mickey has the potential to help the Celtics out right away next season because of his ability to protect the rim, and score from close," noted Eric Laboissonniere of Fan Sided. He added, "Mickey is very undersized to play in the frontcourt of the NBA, but he has terrific timing as a rim protector." With Jared Sullinger managing to play roughly 74 games in the past NBA season, it becomes increasingly apparent for the Boston Celtics to bring in more reliable stars in the roster. Hence, the decision to sign Jordan Mickey into the Boston Celtics could not come at a better time for the NBA team.
