NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics to Sign DeMarcus Cousins; Sacramento Kings' Rudy Gay, Rajon Rondo Lose All-Star

The Boston Celtics has a relatively young team in the NBA. With David Lee as the only reliable veteran in the roster, the Boston Celtics are in dire need of a more experienced support system. In turn, the Boston Celtics are rich with draft round picks which makes the NBA team a fertile ground for other basketball squads to strike deals with. At the moment, one of the most widely talked about NBA trade possibility is the entrance of DeMarcus Cousins to the Boston Celtics locker room.

While the Sacramento Kings have been known to sign players who they believe will be able to provide support to Cousins, the recent games of the NBA team appear to be disproving the effectivity of such strategy. Despite the presence of veterans Rajon Rondo and Rudy Gay in the Sacramento Kings roster, it looks like Cousins' explosive temper and attitude keep getting in the way. Moreover, the Cousins' constant clashes with head coach George Karl appear to be hindering the team's growth.

"Cousins has been a constant headache for the Kings," noted Bob Garcia of the Sports Cheat Sheet. The sports analyst went on to point out, "He is an extremely talented player, but his lack of maturity continues to be problematic. If Sacramento looks into trade possibilities, the team could get much in return thanks to his elite talent. Several teams, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Orlando Magic, could be viable trade partners because of their young talent and draft picks."

The Boston Celtics are pegged as the strongest contenders in terms of potentially trading for Cousins with the Sacramento Kings should the latter decide to push through with the said plan. At the moment, the Marcus Smart squad boasts of four first-round draft picks for 2016. With these chances in mind, the Boston Celtics' precious first-round selection opportunities will prove to be enticing to the struggling Sacramento Kings. Moreover, the Boston Celtics are already rich with young stars. Hence, adding a veteran in the roster is deemed as the most logical next step for the NBA team.

"Listen, we consider all talented players, but what is the price?" shared Danny Ainge, the president of basketball operations of the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN. The executive further stated, "Who are the players that we have around to support? All of that is [discussed] when we have trade talks. I think everybody knows who you are talking about. The bottom line is I can't talk about any players, but I can assure you that we're familiar with every player in the league and every player's background and their character. We consider it all."
