The Brooklyn Nets have seen the departure of some of its biggest NBA stars this season. Paul Pierce was seen exiting the team and entering the Los Angeles Clippers locker room; while Kevin Garnett bid goodbye to the Brooklyn Nets and was welcomed by the Minnesota Timberwolves with open arms. The latest NBA star to walk away from the Brooklyn Nets is Deron Williams who recently joined the Dallas Mavericks in an effort to stay away from an allegedly chaotic team structure and be part of one that offers "stability" in terms of his basketball career.

In an interview with Ian Eagle, a sports analyst in charge of providing observations for the NFL and the games played by the Brooklyn Nets, he pointed out that the NBA team and its fans must temper their expectations with regard the group's performance this season. Noting that the departure of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Devon Williams left the Brooklyn Nets with rookies, Eagle shared that the NBA team must focus on seeking athletes who have the consistency and stability to stay with the team and endure the rigid requirements. In a nutshell, the sports analyst fear that the Brooklyn Nets might have stack on unreliable stars who could walk away at any given time and leave the NBA team with gaping losses. Meanwhile, the only vet left in the Brooklyn Nets roster is Joe Johnson. Without Deron Williams, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett the shooting guard is now the go-to man of the Brooklyn Nets especially among the rookies in the roster.

"They need a couple of these young guys to stick, whether it is Shane Larkin, whether it is Thomas Robinson, whether it's Hollis-Jefferson," observed Eagle, referring to the rookie added by the Brooklyn Nets earlier this year. The sports analyst added, "Some of these young guys have to be legitimate players. I'm not saying stars, but they have to be impact players - guys who they can rely upon. Their margin of error is just a bit slimmer based on the fact that they don't have those draft picks in their back pocket to rely on if this season or next season or the season after, things go awry."

However, Eagle was quick to point out that the move of the Brooklyn Nets to displace a number of its veteran NBA stars is not necessarily incorrect. According to the sports analyst, the NBA team is "attempting to craft a roster that could grow." Hence, "the youth part is the biggest key." With Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in the roster before, the Brooklyn Nets had been "one of the oldest in the NBA." While letting go of such remarkable NBA athletes could prove to be devastating to the playoff run of the Brooklyn Nets this season, Eagle is not completely eliminating the possibility that the team might hit "home runs" with their decisions.
