For some time now, Kevin Love's status with the reigning 2016 NBA champion the Cleveland Cavaliers has been uncertain. But, according to recent reports, it seems the Cavs are willing to let go of Love just to get Nerlens Noel from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ever since the 2015-2016 NBA season ended, basketball fans have turned their attention to the players of the Cavs. One particular player that's been the center of reports is Love.

That's because despite being part of a champion team, Love has been scrutinized for his failure to adapt to the pace and playing style established by LeBron James. This then led to rumors about the Cleveland organization playing Love on the trading block.

One potential trade partner for the Cavs are the 76ers. Back in July, Bryan Colangelo, the president of the Philadelphia franchise, admitted that the team is currently facing a problem about having too many big men on the roster.

"There's no question you can look at our roster and say we have some unbalance," he said according to Real GM. "We're top heavy. We have some good talent here."

"We have to figure out what we're going to do with everybody," he added. "When you look at the calls coming in, quite frankly, everyone's trying to poach a big man from us."

As noted by Chat Sports, the Cavs are looking to solve 76ers' current dilemma by taking away Noel from their lineup. In return, the Cleveland organization is willing to give up Love.

With Love on Philadelphia's lineup, the team will certainly be able to get around the imbalance in its roster. The Cavs, on the other hand, will be getting a new power forward / center who can assist James and Kyrie Irving under the basket.

But, as pointed out by Hoops Habit, the Cavs may not engage in a trade involving Love because of his apparent contributions to the team. Sure, the finals series showed fans how well the Cavs can perform without Love on the court, but it also highlighted what he can do for Cleveland.

Specifically, at Game 7, Love stepped up his defensive game by doing whatever he could to stop Stephen Curry. Although this made him look like a madman dashing on the floor, his movements were effective enough to prevent the Golden State Warriors superstar from doing damage on the Cavs.
