The New York Knicks have been struggling to improve on their poor record from the previous NBA season. While it seems that the addition of rookie Kristaps Porzingis is contributing to the progress of the basketball team, it looks like another problem cropped up recently. The recent matches of the New York Knicks saw the other members of the roster becoming increasingly dependent on Carmelo Anthony. Although such reliance on the NBA All-Star is not necessarily troublesome, the issues concerning the health of the veteran are beginning to hinder the New York Knicks' scoring. 

"We're trying to make sure that [Anthony] and the guys understand that just giving [Anthony] the ball and saying go make a shot, that's not the way we're going to win games in the fourth quarter," shared Fisher following the loss of the New York Knicks in the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN. The head coach further stated, "It has to be done through all five guys. And that goes both ways, and that's not easy to do. Melo's been asked to do that on a lot of teams that he's played on. We're asking everybody not to play that way, first through fourth quarter, but it's just not easy to do." The New York Knicks succumbed to the LeBron James basketball squad 86-96.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks could be deliberating on letting go of Anthony in the near future. It is no secret that the NBA team built its roster around the NBA elite. Throughout the trade talks and draft picks, the New York Knicks have consistently had Anthony in mind - that is, they only sign players who can compliment the playing style of the face of the franchise. Although such practice is common among NBA teams, such as the Houston Rockets' move to build their squad around James Harden, sports analysts believe that this may not be working well for the New York Knicks.

Hence, some experts are saying that Anthony might be better off in another NBA team. One of the basketball squads that the sports analysts feel would be a better fit for the All-Star player is the Chicago Bulls.

It could be recalled that the Chicago Bulls attempted to sign Anthony during the offseason, but the New York Knicks star opted to re-sign with his current team. According to sources, the monetary consideration had been a huge factor for Anthony's decision. With the championship window closing in on Anthony though, it might be best for the athlete to determine where his skills will be best put to use.

With the entrance of Porzingis in the New York Knicks roster, the significance of Anthony's presence is undoubtedly shrinking. So, it would behoove him to to look for teams that would better value his position and talent. Coincidentally, the position of small forward is one of the pressing concerns for the Chicago Bulls. Adding Anthony in the squad composed of Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic would definitely make the Chicago Bulls a contender for the NBA finals. Should this ever push through, the hefty price tag of Anthony might push the Chicago Bulls to let go of Tony Snell and Doug McDermott.
