After the Brooklyn Nets were able to secure Jeremy Lin, who is one of the NBA's top free agents, the team has been relatively quiet in terms of acquiring new players. But, due to recent events within the league, it seems the Nets are about to get a chance to build up its roster once again by getting Dion Waiters and Moe Harkless.

These rumors started after the Oklahoma City Thunder reportedly rescinded their offer to Waitres. According to Yahoo! Sports, the team decided to pull back on its $6.7 million offer to the athlete in order to create cap space, which is expected to be used on Russell Westbrook's new contract.

As for Harkless, he is still an unrestricted free agent since it seems he and the Portland Trail Blazers have not yet reached an agreement regarding his contract with the team. According to Blazers Edge, this means Harkless is still available to entertain offers from other teams. If this happens, then the Blazers will have just three days to decide whether to match the offer or let him go.

However, since the team recently offered deals to Festus Ezeli, Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe, it's highly possible that the Trail Blazers no longer have the necessary cap space to keep Harkless.

The Nets, on the other hand, have a lot of cap space that they can spend on getting new talent to their roster. As noted by Sportsrageous, the Brooklyn franchise is reportedly interested in getting Waiters, who could serve as a reliable partner to Lin.

The same can be said for Harkless, since signing with the Nets will bring him closer to his hometown of Queens.

However, aside from the Nets, other teams are also looking to get Waiters and Harkless. This means the Nets should decide quickly if they want to get these two before a higher offer is made by another franchise.

Lin, on the other hand is expected to hold a press conference for the Nets this week. In the event, the athlete is expected to introduce the new lineup of the team. If they manage to get Harkless and Waiters, then another press event will probably be held by the Nets in the future.
