NBA Rumors: Denver Nuggets-Clippers Drama Between Coach Michael Malone and Blake Griffin, Coach Emmanuel Mudiay Ends

Emotions ran high during the match between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers. The said match up saw the Blake Griffin squad trample the Emmanuel Mudiay team, ending the game at 111-94. This NBA face off saw the end of the three-game losing streak of the Los Angeles Clippers as the DeAndre Jordan group struggled to keep up with the Golden State Warriors (124-117), Portland Trailblazers (102-91) and the Toronto Raptors (91-80).

Although the highlight of the game included notable performances from the Los Angeles Clippers, fans who witnessed the NBA match up saw another interesting aspect. During the said game, Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone appeared to be incapable of controlling his emotions and keeping his frustrations in check. The head coach got involved in two heated verbal exchanges from players of both teams - with one even resulting in a technical foul meted out against the Denver Nuggets.

One of the verbal spats involved Denver Nuggets star Mudiay; while the other roped in Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers.

"There is frustration on our end, having lost four games in a row now," admitted Malone, referring to the possible source of his outbursts, according to the Denver Post. The head coach added, "Just trying to find way to get a win. Winning is a great cure-all for anybody, like it was for (the Clippers) tonight, coming in having lost three in a row. So this is a very competitive game, guys are out there working hard trying to do their best, and sometimes emotions get involved. By no means is there an issue with Emmanuel or anybody else on this team. We are together, we are unified and we're going to continue to fight to stay together to get this thing turned around."

Mudiay and Malone got into a heated verbal argument when the head coach appeared to have publicly chastised the Denver Nuggets player. The NBA star clearly did not do well sitting on the explosive comments from his coach and retaliated. According to Mudiay himself, disappoint and frustration over the way the game against the Los Angeles Clippers was turning fueled his anger.

"It's just both of us being competitors," shared Mudiay. He went on to say, "It probably was my fault, I could have been doing a lot more. So I kind of put the blame on myself. I've got nothing against Coach, I respect him. He's a great person, and I have all the respect in the world for him."

Meanwhile, the argument of Malone with Griffin still bore no clear explanation. In what could be seen from the clips of the game, Griffin passed by Malone and uttered some words. These visibly pushed the wrong buttons as Malone almost immediately attacked the Los Angeles Clippers star. In fact, some of the Denver Nuggets players even had to restrain their head coach to prevent him from barreling forward to the other side of the court.

When the excitement died down, though, the Denver Nuggets head coach sobered up and admitted to his errors in judgment.

"After the game, just being very honest, very heartfelt when I apologized to them," shared Malone, according to the Basketball Insiders. He went on to state, "I have to be better for them. One thing I always do is before I assign or cast any blame, I look at myself first. And I think the players respect that. So, I apologized for the whole thing with Blake (Griffin). I apologized (to Emmanuel Mudiay) for jumping him in that manner in a public forum."
