NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Set to Beat Cleveland Cavaliers Again; Team Put Faith In Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson

The Golden State Warriors are now gearing up for the upcoming NBA season with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson leading the champions. While the 2015 NBA season will definitely see a number of teams stepping up their game and vowing to beat the Golden State Warriors, such as the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs, a number of sports analysts believe that the Cleveland Cavaliers are the most determined to dethrone the reigning NBA champions.

With LeBron James expressing his thrill and excitement over the re-entry of both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in the  Cavaliers and the rumored bolstered gameplays and strategies of the NBA team, the  Warriors undoubtedly have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, the recent addition of LaMarcus Aldridge in the Spurs roster along with the entry of Paul Pierce and Lance Stephenson in the Clippers will definitely rattle the Warriors this season.

However, theWarriors appear to be confident in the NBA champions' strong secret weapon: the Splash Brothers. Prior to making a "splash" in the NBA playoffs, the Warriors already predicted the greatness that will come from Curry and Thompson. Touting the two NBA stars as possibly the "greatest shooting backcourt in the history of the game" way back in 2013, Golden State head coach Mark Jackson had been laughed at behind his back for being delusional when it comes to the abilities of his players.

At the time Jackson made this declaration regarding his Golden stars, both Thompson and Curry were only in their second and fourth season in the NBA, respectively. Critics of the Golden State Warriors roster also pointed out that both NBA stars were only in their early 20s then, so branding them as the "best" in the NBA, which would put them side by side Bryant, James and even Michael Jordan, was a tad too presumptuous of Jackson.

Two years since the declaration of the Warriors head coach and it looks like Jackson has been finally proven right. Both Curry and Thompson delivered jaw dropping skills throughout the previous NBA season - with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft bringing home the MVP trophy to the Warriors locker room as well as bagging an NBA All-Star slot twice.

The sentiments of the Warriors head coach was echoed by Thompson in an interview with CBS Sports. Thompson shared that both he and Curry served as the foundation of the Warriors in the previous NBA season which saw their team trump the Cavaliers in the finals despite the fervent efforts of  James.

"I agree. I think so," shared the  Warriors star, referring to his head coach's 2013 prediction of him and Curry becoming the best shooting backcourt in NBA history. Thompson went on to say, "Steph is one of the best to ever play. I think I'm right there by him. We both led the NBA in 3s, we were No. 1 and 2. I don't know if that has ever happened on the same team." He added, "So, I think we're the best shooting backcourt, maybe of all-time. We still got a lot to prove, and I still think we are just scratching the surface of what we can be."
