NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Trading Draymond Green For Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins

It has long been rumored that the Sacramento Kings have placed DeMarcus Cousins on the trading block. Although the Golden State Warriors now have a very strong lineup, the team is reportedly keen on acquiring Cousins by trading Draymond Green.

The trade rumors surrounding Cousins started during the offseason after it was revealed that there was a rift between him and the Kings management. Since the issue between him and the team is already starting to affect the other players, the Sacramento franchise has reportedly resorted to trading him away.

Exchanging Cousins for another player is the best move for the Kings rather than waiting until 2018 when his contract expires. By that time, Cousins will be a free agent and the Kings will definitely lose him without getting anyone in return.

Various teams have already reportedly contacted the Kings for a trade involving Cousins but one of the franchises that stand out is Golden State.

The Warriors gained an even stronger lineup this year when Kevin Durant decided to sign with them after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder. Although their roster is already looking almost perfect, they intend to improve this by parting ways with Green.

Green and the other members of the Big 3, namely Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, have certainly functioned as a huge part of the Warriors' offense and defense. However, Green problematic behavior continues to be an issue for the Golden State organization.

Just recently, Green went back to his old antics when he kicked Allen Crabbe during the Warriors' preseason game against the Portland Trail Blazers. But aside from in in-game actions, Green's behavior outside the court is also problematic for the Warriors.

"Throughout the season, Green, in the guise of motivation, would berate his co-workers during games and practices; on multiple occasions he had to be separated from teammates," ESPN's Ethan Strauss wrote about Green.

His behavior could be the main factor that will drive the Warriors the trade Green to Sacramento. In return, they will get Cousins, an veteran athlete who knows how to handle himself on the court and adapt to the plays that will be set by Durant, Thompson and Curry.
