The Houston Rockets are busy trying to figure out how to boost the team they built around James Harden especially in light of the exit of both Dwight Howard and Jason Terry. While the Eric Gordon squad looks into potential free agents in the market, fans point out that the best players to serve as supporting cast for The Beard is to engage in an NBA trade this offseason. Hence, it comes as no surprise that a Bobby Portis trade is said to be in the works.

The Chicago Bulls are pulling off an overhaul of their roster with the departure of veterans Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose, who are now teammates with Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis in the New York Knicks, as well as the newly minted San Antonio Spurs star Pau Gasol. Meanwhile, the entry of Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Rajon Rondo of the Sacramento Kings to the Jimmy Butler squad dictates the new direction of the Chicago Bulls next season.

Will Bobby Portis still hold a special role in the team? Or would he be better off in other NBA squads where he can get a do over?

The answers remain uncertain. At this point, no official comment has been given by any of the parties involved. While rumors are rife that Bobby Portis might be sent off somewhere else along with Nikola Mirotic and Taj Gibson, fans of the Chicago Bulls are optimistic that the team up of Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler still has space to feature the young star.

"We've been working a lot with Bobby and his footwork, talking a lot about shot selection," shared Fred Hoiberg of his plans with the young star. The Chicago Bulls head coach added, "I think that will improve."

For his part, Bobby Portis shared his plans this offseason. With the entry of two more alphas in the Chicago Bulls roster, the young NBA star could be further pushed to the background. However, it appears that Bobby Portis refuses to dwell on this issue.

"Always stay ready for your moment," shared Bobby Portis. He added, "I was SEC Player of the Year. I came in thinking I was going to play, and I didn't play. It was a wake-up call for me. That was my first time not playing in a long time, so I sat and waited my turn. I got up there and showed the world glimpses of what I can do. Now I'm just trying to tone up my game a little bit more so I can have more opportunity this year."

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets supporters are excited over the possibility of a Bobby Portis trade. The Chicago Bulls star could be a great addition to help out James Harden in the hardwood court. Moreover, he might just turn himself into the superstar to partner with The Beard - a team up that could be the next Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard or Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.
