NBA Rumors: Jeremy Lin Signs San Antonio Spurs Deal; Linsanity Agrees To Trial Run With LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan

The San Antonio Spurs were left stunned when Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook took away their shot at unseating the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference. Throughout the NBA season, fans expected Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green to face off against Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in the division's final round. However, things fell apart for the San Antonio Spurs with Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker seeing the effects of their age and injuries in the hardwood court. Does this mean that change is coming?

While the Kawhi Leonard squad boasts of an amazing roster, the fact remains that the NBA is turning into a more aggressive and dynamic environment. That is, younger and faster basketball stars, such as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors, are now dominating the league. In a move that could potentially rank the San Antonio Spurs in the top spot in the Western Conference, reports are surfacing that Jeremy Lin might be signing with the Tim Duncan team.

The Charlotte Hornets were a surprise addition to the NBA playoffs 2016 especially when they gave the Miami Heat a run for their money. In addition Kemba Walker, Courtney Lee and Nicolas Batum battling it out against Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng and Hassan Whiteside, the Michael Jordan team had their own secret weapon - the Linsanity. Despite his contribution to the Charlotte Hornets, however, Lin still found himself getting second-class treatment in the NBA team. Is it time to move on?

"I just want to find a great situation and just be in that situation," shared Lin when asked of his plans for the future. He added, "I don't like moving. I don't like moving every year. I don't like boxes and unpacking boxes and packing boxes."

Despite his aversion to moving, Lin also noted that he wants to take full advantage of his skills. Needless to say, he was underutilized in the Charlotte Hornets with Kemba Walker still leading the NBA team. In fact, Linsanity only appeared when one of the Big Threes got injured. That is, Lin remains to not be a key piece in the Michael Jordan group.

"For free agency, I will seek out every opportunity that gives me the greatest chance to be the best player I can be," revealed Lin. The Harvard graduate added, "I believe I'm just getting started. I have more to give and more to accomplish."

Will the San Antonio Spurs be the perfect landing spot for Jeremy Lin? The cool and relaxed atmosphere in the Tim Duncan locker room can give Linsanity a suitable environment to hone his skills. Plus, he gets the two things he wants - a bigger market with good opportunities and a basketball family that aims to develop him in the long run.
