According to NBA Insiders, the Oklahoma City Thunder's first home game will be against the Golden State Warriors in February next year. This means that this could be the first time that Kevin Durant will be in Oklahoma City for a game ever since he joined the Warriors.

As noted by ESPN reporter Mark Stein, the Thunder's first game against the Warriors for the 2016-2017 season will take place in OKC. The reported noted that this match has been penciled in for Feb. 11.

Yahoo! Sports pointed out, on the other hand, that this is not yet the final schedule. In other words, the venue or the date could still change depending on certain factors.

Still, though, the Thunder facing off against the Warriors in the former's home turf at Chesapeake Energy Arena is very intriguing because this would be the first time that Durant will take on his former teammates.

For one, after Durant left OKC, it has been rumored that he and Russell Westbrook aren't on good terms. According to these reports, Westbrook is disappointed that Durant specifically chose the Warriors as his next destination and he's also angry at him for leaving him in OKC.

It would also be interesting to see Durant, the former leader of OKC, take on his successor Westbrook on the court.

But aside from seeing his former teammates on the court, Durant will also have to deal with the supporters of the Thunder in their hometown. Many of these fans were very unforgiving when Durant announced that he was moving to Golden State.

Some of them called him a coward for choosing the Warriors since they are already a strong team, to begin with. Needless to say, Durant will probably not feel very welcomed at OKC when he returns there on February.

But other than the upcoming match between the Thunder and the Warriors, another highly anticipated game for next season is the one between Golden State and the Cleveland Cavaliers, which, according to ESPN, will go down on Christmas Day.

For the entire NBA community, this game will probably serve as the unofficial rematch of the finals. Fans will surely be looking forward to how the Cavs, which still has its core group intact, will perform against the super-team led by Durant, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
