The New York Knicks have been described as one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA today. With a plethora of basketball stars eager to play for the Carmelo Anthony squad, the team's inability to make it to the playoffs has been baffling fans for years. Moreover, the turnover of new stars joining the team has become a trademark for the New York Knicks. Throughout the years, the likes of Jeremy Lin and Amar Stoudemire had been pushed out of the Kristaps Porzingis squad. As things stand right now, it looks like the bloodshed in the roster is far from over.

One of the recent basketball stars rumored to exit the New York Knicks roster is Derrick Williams. As one of the big men in the squad, the 24-year-old was chosen as backup for Porzingis following the Latvian's injury. However, it looks like Williams' days in basketball mecca are counted. Reports have surfaced that the Porzingis sub might be released from the New York Knicks soon.

With his diminished minutes and role in the basketball team, Williams is reportedly eyed as another key piece in the NBA trade market. To further bolster the speculations, the former Dallas Mavericks star is due for free agency soon. With Porzingis taking over his role and showing impeccable promise in the hardwood court, it seems likely that the New York Knicks will opt to let go of Williams and sign another star who might offer more than the rookie can provide. Despite the rumors of his impending exit from the team, Williams remains focused on the goal this NBA season.

"I'm just worried about playing well and helping this team win," shared Williams via the New York Post. He added, "I love the atmosphere here. When we're not at our best, the fans are still there. I'm just worried about the last [19] games. I'm really trying to push, man. If we do that, everything will be good."

Williams further commented on his diminishing minutes and the current state of the New York Knicks. He said, "I don't think I'm frustrated because I'm not playing. I'm frustrated because we're losing. Granted, we all want to play more. That doesn't mean we're going to win. For sure I'm frustrated. I want to go out there and play more. I want to win. That's the main thing."

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks are reportedly looking into adding Tony Wroten into the roster. According to Yahoo Sports, league sources revealed that the free agent and the basketball team are already "finalizing agreement on a multi-year contract."

The entry of Wroten in the team will reportedly strengthen the presence of Arron Afflalo and Jose Calderon in the team. Prior to getting linked to the New York Knicks, the free agent had been with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Jahlil Okafor squad later on released him in December 2015. The 22-year-old has been reported to suffer from health concerns.
