NBA Rumors: Oklahoma City Thunder To Acquire Jeremy Lin from Brooklyn Nets

When Kevin Durant officially left the Oklahoma City Thunder to play for the Golden State Warriors, fans of OKC were worried that Russell Westbrook might eventually leave too. But, it seems the Oklahoma City organization is looking to make Westbrook's stay more enjoyable by bringing in Jeremy Lin from the Brooklyn Nets.

Westbrook officially ended speculations of his exit from OKC after signing a three-year contract extension in August. According to him, his decision to stay with the Thunder stems from his deep love and loyalty for the city, the organization and its fans.

"The fans are unbelievable to me, mean so much to me and what I believe in and the player I've become to this day," he said. "Obviously to come back here is a true blessing. There's nowhere else I'd rather be than Oklahoma City."

"You guys have basically, kinda raised me," he added. "I was 18, 19 years old and you guys did nothing but great things for me. Through the good and the bad, you guys supported me overall, and through it all. And I appreciate it."

However, even though Westbrook is very loyal to OKC, fans still fear that the team will no longer have another player to assist him during games now that Durant is gone.

But, it seems the OKC front office aims to solve this issue by reportedly trying to get Lin from the Nets. Despite being already in the league since 2010 and gaining a huge momentum in his career in 2011 during the time if Linsanity, Lin is has attracted a lot of hype recently by returning to New York to sign with Brooklyn. In addition, he was recently named by the Nets as their starting point guard, which is a first in his entire NBA career.

Although it may seem that Lin had already peaked, things are still looking good for him as the 2016-2017 NBA season kicks off. This is the main reason why adding him to the Thunder roster would not only boost the team's offense but could also serve as an incentive for Westbrook to remain with the team for a long time.
