NBA Rumors: Sacramento Kings Struggle Without DeMarcus Cousins; Draymond Green, Stephen Curry Continues Winning Streak Over Rudy Gay, Rajon Rondo

The Sacramento Kings are trying to keep their head high despite the consecutive losses they have incurred lately. Following their 101-91 loss in the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Rudy Gay squad got crushed in their next match against the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry and his crew delivered a heartbreaking 101-120 loss to the Sacramento Kings thereby keeping their undefeated status this NBA season.

The match against the Golden State Warriors was the third game DeMarcus Cousins missed since he incurred his latest injury this basketball season. The feisty NBA star had been sidelined temporarily due to a lower back strain. Hence, the Rajon Rondo squad had no other recourse but to move forward sans Cousins and his explosive attitude in the hardwood court.

"I think you've just got to stay strong," shared George Karl following the slaughter of his NBA team in the hands of the Draymond Green squad, according to the Sacramento Bee. The Sacramento Kings head coach added, "This is the time of the year where Cuz has missed (eight) games. We'll get back on the right track, but right now we've got to hopefully get healthy with Cuz, and once he gets in the lineup, I think we'll get our confidence in a good direction."

The same sentiment was echoed by Ben McLemore. The Sacramento Kings point guard noted that the NBA team should stick together in this time of need and not be discouraged by the absence of their star player. He said, "I think everybody knows that we've got to continue to keep our poise, staying together. Even though we don't have the big fella right now, we've still got talented guys who can go out there and compete every night."

For his part, Rondo said that the entire NBA season will be filled with difficulties and struggles. Hence, the former Boston Celtics star advised his current teammates to carry on and simply aim to overcome the obstacles along their way. The NBA veteran shared, "Never too high, never too low. It's a long season There will be ups and downs; it's a roller coaster. Hopefully, we can get this thing smoothed out pretty soon."

Before his injury, critics had been pouncing on the behavior of Cousins as the young star continue to exhibit behavior many deem to be unfit for a professional. However, Karl shared that his contributions to the Sacramento Kings had been overlooked simply because of his attitude.

"People never talk about his [Cousins] defense," Karl said via Basketball Insider. The head coach added, "He's very skilled. He can play outside, he can play inside, he can play on top. He can be a passer, a playmaker and is a paint defender - probably a top-five paint defender in basketball. He can be anything he wants to be. He's got rebounding hands that are off of the charts too. If the ball is near him, his hands will get it."
