With three months before the NBA trade deadline, various rumors are starting to swirl around regarding which players will be swapped by their teams. Right now, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors is once the again the center of trade rumors that, for some reason, involves the Boston Celtics.

Reports of the Warriors shopping around Thompson emerged once more after the Morning Ledger published an article about it. It was then picked up by Brian Sacalabrine who then discussed the matter on his Sirius XM program, according to Mercury News.

This then led to an avalanche of reports about the Celtics engaging in a trade deal with Thompson.

This is not the first time that the Warriors shooting guard became the center of trade rumors. During the offseason, a lot of sources speculated that Thompson would request a trade from the team after Kevin Durant was signed.

According to these reports, Thompson was allegedly not happy that his minutes on the court would diminish with Durant on the Warriors lineup. As for the Celtics, they got dragged into the rumor because they are reportedly searching for fresh talent to boost the team's lineup.

Although Thompson's playing time has truly lessened this year compared to last season because of Durant's presence, he did not request for a trade from the team. In fact, he previously stated that he is looking forward to working with the former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar. And, even though his stats dropped, he still remains as one of the main contributors in the Golden State franchise.

Aside from the rumor not having a solid basis, Steve Kerr, head coach of the Warriors, has already stepped forward to shut down the speculations regarding the trade involving Thompson.

"I think our guys know that most of that stuff is almost always BS," he said. "If that became a story, I would probably talk to Klay. But I didn't know it was a story until just now."

"I'll go home, get on the Internet and decide whether to call Klay or not," Kerr added. "There's a lot of fake news."
