There is a lot of offseason moves going on with the NBA, and so it should be no surprise with all of the NBA Trade Rumors going on with The Los Angeles Lakers, a team that will be needing a lot of help to have a better 2016 season.

Bleacher Report stated that the Lakers were attempting to trade some undisclosed figure for second-round pick for center Roy Hibbert, but "the timing was just off".  As it so happens, it looked like the Lakers were going to be the "determined bidder" for point guard Ty Lawson.  Lawson was traded by the Denver Nuggets to the Houston Rockets as of Monday.

CBS Sports has reported that many teams besides the Lakers were interested in trading for Lawson, including the Pistons.  Lawson was arrested earlier this week and allegedly charged with a DUI, which might be why Bleacher Report says that the Lakers have "dodged a bullet" when it comes to Lawson.

However, ESPN reports that Hibbert is going to lead the new trio that includes Brandon Bass and Lou Williams.  They might not be MVP contenders as yet, but it is reported that they are quality additions to the roster that needs a lot of help with the franchise worst of 21-61 last season.

The Lakers introduced the three players at a news conference on Wednesday, and it sounds like each of the players wants to give the Lakers a "fresh start".  Hibbert was actually a runner-up for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year two years ago, but things didn't go good for when he was with the Indiana Pacers at that time.  Hibbert spent his first seven seasons with the Pacers, and LA could really make him successful.

As for Lou Williams, he comes from the Toronto Rapters, who didn't even offer him a new contract after his deal expired last season.  Williams was the 2014-2015 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, and he has a three-year deal worth $21 million with the Lakers.  Brandon Bass comes from four seasons of playing with the Boston Celtics, the rival of the Lakers.

Sports World Report says that the Lakers have "been very active" this offseason after adding Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass, and Lou Williams, and the Lakers have also shopped Nick Young this offseason, who has had a similar role to Williams on the offense.  It is possible that Young could go to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the Cavs just added Richard Jefferson and James Jones.  If the Cavs are serious on bringing back JR Smith, then it would not be good to add Young.

Then there is the prospect of Brendan Haywood.  The question is all about the cap space required, as Haywood has a contract for $10.5 million that is unguaranteed until the end of the month.

In the meantime, there are reports that D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson are going to get a workout with the legendary Steve Nash.  It is suspected that Nash can give these players some seriously good advice.
