Marvel and Netflix are really working hard to insure that their latest shows are working together in the same universe.  So far, Daredevil and Jessica Jones have had great first seasons, taking place in the same world as The Avengers and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but with a darker slant.  Two new shows set for release in 2016, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, will take it a step further before the four heroes (or antiheroes) come together in The Defenders, also coming soon.

It's pretty clear that the next in The Defenders Marvel Netflix series that will get more detail will be Daredevil Season 2.  IGN reports that there was a clip revealed behind closed doors at Comic-Con Experience in Brazil.  This clip shows Daredevil (Charlie Cox) entering a refrigerated room where bodies are hanging from the ceiling.  When Daredevil asks the obvious question of "why did they do this to you", one replies:  "They? It was just a guy".

That guy would be The Punisher, who is best known as Marvel's antihero/vigilante and killer of criminals.  He will be played by Jon Bernthal, and the behind closed doors clip showed Frank Castle (Punisher's real name) taking aim, and then Daredevil stopping him.

It would appear that the Punisher is going to be the primary focus of Daredevil Season 2.  In Season 1, it was Matt's war with the criminal element with Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), who is not scheduled to return for Season 2.  Season 1 showed that Matt Murdock (Daredevil's real name) was upset that he couldn't defend the weak and innocent in court, and had to take his battle to the street.  Season 2 will really establish Daredevil's ethos as he will deal with a man that has no qualms about killing in the name of keeping the city safe.

In addition to the Punisher, there will also be the addition of another Marvel fan-favorite character with Elektra, played by Elodie Yung.  Considering the comic book source material reveals a romantic relationship between the two of them, it will be interesting to see if that develops.  Of course, Matt has also had a relationship with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), which would also bloom into something.

The biggest talk about Daredevil Season 2 is what will happen in this expanded universe that has proven to be quite a success.  Considering that Jessica Jones didn't really tie-in very well (with the exception of the introduction of "Night Nurse" Claire Temple played by Rosario Dawson) with Daredevil's Season 1, it is possible that Season 2 of Daredevil could tie-in better.  Chances are, Matt Murdock might have a lot of new clients after Kilgrave (David Tennant) forced so many people to do heinous things with his mind-control powers.

It is too early to start talking about Jessica Jones Season 2, other than that it will happen, most likely by next year at this time.  The Luke Cage show will premiere before that, and events on that show take place after Jessica Jones Season 1.  Here we will see Luke Cage (Mike Colter) try and pick up the pieces of his life after his wife's death has been avenged and the bar he owns was blown up.  There's been some talk about comic book side character Misty Knight (Simone Missick) showing up, as well as Alvarez (Theo Rossi).

What is still a mystery is the fourth show for The Defenders, Iron Fist.  There are some developments as SlashFilm revealed that the show has a showrunner named Scott Buck, who has worked on darker shows like Six Feet Under and Dexter

It is pretty clear that Marvel and Netflix are really going to want tight writing on these seasons so they will really work together by the time these four heroes combine forces in The Defenders
