Just about everyone has a dream car that they would love to own one fine day. While the likes of a Ferrari or Lamborghini might be out of reach for the majority of the world (which is what makes them so exclusive in the first place), there are other more affordable luxuries such as the Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi brand names. If you prefer the passion of an Italian thoroughbred in the same class, then ditch those German makes and look no farther than in the direction of Alfa Romeo. The Italian vehicle manufacturer has revealed its latest ride, the all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia that is set to spice things up in a market that has established players such as the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C Class.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia will have a starting price of $38,990 which should be within reach for those of you who want something more than your regular sedan, and if you have the money to splurge as you have already arrived at your career with more than enough disposable income to spare, then you can fork out close to double the entry price point at $73,595 for the Quadrifoglio.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia will be on sale later this December, and it has been priced to compete with the other sedans from various countries -- across the pond with Germany and England, all the way on the other end of the Pacific with Japan, and of course, American makes as well. It would be interesting to see how the competition responds with the Alfa Romeo Giulia’s debut.
Taking into consideration the Alfa Romeo Giulia’s starting price point at $38,990, it will be more expensive than the $34,445 BMW 3-Series, although it is a wee bit more affordable than the $40,425 Mercedes-Benz C300. However, pricing should not be the only thing to take into consideration when you are mulling over the purchase of a car. The Alfa Romeo Giulia will certainly make you smile as you put the pedal to them etal with its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine more than ready to unleash 280 ponies and 306 pound-feet of torque. Alfa Romeo proudly touts a 5.1 second 0-60 mph time for the base model, which certainly leaves BMW and Mercedes-Benz’s offerings in its wake.
For those who want to really heat things up on the asphalt if the need arises, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio at $73,595 will certainly fit the bill. It is considerably more expensive compared to the BMW M3 and Cadillac ATS-V, being placed right there on the shelf alongside the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Sedan. Sporting a 2.9-liter biturbo V6 underneath the hood that is waiting to unleash its 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, you get a 3.8 second 0-60 mph time. Heady stuff, really.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio will be available for purchase this December, so you might want to consider picking yourself a really shiny new toy this Christmas. After all, it has clearly been priced to compete -- and even offers great value for money in its class in terms of performance. We could be looking at an Alfa Romeo resurgence Stateside soon.
