Could this be a variant of the LG G5 or LG V20, or might it be yet another new LG handset? Only time will be able to tell. Geekbench

We all know that LG has plans to release an update to their LG G5 flagship smartphone sometime this year, although the exact moment remains unknown. Chances are, it will be known as the LG G6 in order to remain in step with tradition. It seems that a mysterious new LG smartphone has been spotted, where it will carry a version of Android Nougat, accompanied by at least 4GB of RAM underneath the hood. This would certainly not come across as a surprise, taking into consideration how when the LG V20 was first released, it too, came with Android 7.0 Nougat in tow. That was a bold move, making it one of the very first few non-Google devices to feature Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box when Google first released that version of their mobile operating system.

Apart from that, right at the heart of this mystery LG smartphone would be a 2.19 GHz quad-core processor -- which is more than a decent performer by any means in this day and age. This mystery LG smartphone showed off its model number as LGE LGUS997 over on the GeekBench benchmark results, and based on the model number, it looks like it will be limited to subscribers to US Cellular only as an exclusive device.

Based on the GeekBench listing, the LGE LGUS997 managed to score 1639 points in a single-core test while the multi-core test saw it achieve a score of 3504 points. Not only that, this LG handset will run on Android 7.0 Nougat as well as 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s MSM 8996 2.19 GHz quad-core processor.

At the moment, LG has sold its LG V20 as well as the LG G5 via US Cellular while sporting the Snapdragon 820 chipset. It remains unknown as to whether the newly seen device will be a totally new smartphone, or whether it is a variant of either the LG V20 or the LG G5.

As for the upcoming LG G6 flagship smartphone, many of us are looking forward to the LG G6’s announcement that is set to happen at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, this coming 26th of February. The LG G6 will be a game changer from the South Korean manufacturer, where it will feature a generous 5.7-inch QHD display alongside the brand new LG UX 6.0 that has been specially designed in order to maximize its advantage over its rivals thanks to the new FullVision display.

The LG G6’s 5.7-inch Quad HD display will sport a resolution count of 2880 x 1440 pixels, with something new in terms of its screen aspect ratio of 18:9. That is certainly a step away from the norm, which is 16:9 for many other handsets. Thankfully, this device will sport a feature that will let users view 16:9 ratio content in the 18:9 format. Not only that, the LG G6 is touted to be ergonomic in nature, that it ought to be comfortable to hold without sacrificing on its compatibility.
