Netflix content for December and content that will leave. Netflix

Now that Thanksgiving is past, everyone is starting to think about Christmas, and Netflix is prepared to give its subscribers some great gifts for the year with new content.  The company knows that most of us will have some time off this year, and they are prepared to fill our time off with some new movies and shows.  These are the New Netflix Titles, both movies and shows, for December 2015, as well as a list of those that will be leaving.

The films that are coming in December are quite numerous, and there will be new offerings daily.  Some of these have been long-awaited, and some have a lot of nostalgic value.  The list comes from Whats-on-Netflix

December 1st

  • #DeathToSelfie (2014)
  • 30 for 30:Chasing Tyson (2015)
  • 50 Shades of They Season 1
  • A Christmas Star (2015)
  • A Genius Leaves the Hood: The Unauthorized Story of Jay-Z (2014)
  • Amnesiac (2015)
  • Broadchurch Season 2
  • CBGB (2013)
  • Christmas Wedding Baby (2014)
  • The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury (2004):  This is not a live-action Riddick film, but an animated direct-to-DVD film that takes place right after the events of the first Riddick film, Pitch Black.  It is directed by Peter Chung, who is best known for the Aeon Flux series on MTV, and Vin Diesel provides the voice for Riddick.
  • Cradle 2 the Grave (2003)
  • Darkman (1990):  This film came out before superhero films were serious money, and it was directed by Sam Raimi, who directed the original Spider-Man and The Evil Dead trilogies.  It stars Liam Neeson as the title character who is seeking revenge on those that left him for dead.
  • Detectorists  Season 1
  • I'm Brent Morin (2015)
  • Jenny's Wedding (2015)
  • Las Mágicas Historias de Pilm Pilm Season 1

December 8th

  • One & Two (2015)
  • Phoenix (2014)
  • Xenia (2014)

December 9th

  • Phineas and Ferb Season 4:  The show about two brilliant boys who build anything, the sister that tries to bust them for it, and their platypus has been wanted on Netflix for a long time.  The show is notorious for having long seasons (just four even though it lasted from 2007-2015), and it used to be that Netflix picked up the latest episode during season 3.  Season 4 has finally here and it includes the final episode "Last Day of Summer".
  • Trailer Park Boys: Drunk, High, And Unemployed Live in Austin (2015)

December 11th

  • The Adventures of Puss and Boots Season 2
  • The Ridiculous Six (2015):  This is one of Adam Sandler's "Happy Madison" films that was made exclusively for Netflix.  As usual, Sandler is working with writer Tim Herlihy and Frank Coraci to make a parody of The Magnificent Seven, and it has already has some controversy even before its release after the Native American actors walked out.

December 14th

  • The Da Vinci Code (2006):  Speaking of controversy, this film is an adaptation of mega best-selling book that was also controversial, leading to over 47 books about its view of "the sacred feminine" as well as Jesus Christ's supposed marriage to Mary Magdalene.  In spite of having Tom Hanks in the lead and Ron Howard directing, the film wasn't received well by critics, as well as those that enjoyed the best-selling book.

December 25th

  • Black Mirror : White Christmas Special:  If you haven't been watching Black Mirror, then you are missing out on a darker speculative fiction anthology series that is similar to The Twilight Zone.  Seasons 1-3 are available on Netflix now, and you can watch its Christmas special staring Mad Men's one and only Jon Hamm.
