New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony Trains Kristaps Porzingis; Derrick Williams, Darion Atkins Learn from Sasha Vujacic

The New York Knicks have been busy this NBA offseason attempting to build a team that will be able tot supplement the elite skills of basketball star Carmelo Anthony. Following the unsuccessful run of the New York Knicks in bagging LaMarcus Aldridge, who is now preparing to play alongside Tim Duncan and Tony Parker in the San Antonio Spurs roster, Carmelo Anthony and his crew remain adamant in searching for talent that will boost the group's chances of dominating the NBA season. Not even the rejection from Greg Monroe, who opted to play for the Milwaukee Bucks this season instead of signing with either the New York Knicks or the Los Angeles Lakers, could stop Derrick Williams and the rest of the team to pursue the title this time around.

The addition of Kristaps Porzingis is one of the most notable acquisitions of the New York Knicks. As the 7-footer enters the league alongside Carmelo Anthony, Darion Atkins and Derrick Williams, fans and followers of the NBA team become increasingly excited over his promising basketball career this season. Apart from the fans, it looks like Carmelo Anthony himself recognize the potential of Porzingis. In an interview with the 19-year-old Latvinian, he revealed that the NBA Elite star has been training with him since he entered the New York Knicks locker room.

"We were playing one-on-one a lot, and I was just asking him about the moves, about as much as I could and know how he does that, how he does this so I can learn from him," revealed Porzingis to Ian Begley of ESPN. He added, "It was good for me to see how he carries himself just being around him, he's never said no to one of my questions so I can keep asking and it's great for me to keep learning from him." Aside from Carmelo Anthony, Porzingis has also been playing with Derrick Williams and Kevin Seraphin.

As for the position he intends to pursue in the New York Knicks roster, Porzingis shared that he believes he could play the power forward post at the moment. He said, "For now, I'm a [PF] for sure because of the defense. I've got to be able to hold those [centers]. So that's the main thing." Porzingis went on to say, "Once I get stronger I'll be able to play 5. Offensively, I can play both positions. At 5, I'll be way quicker than the 5 man. So I'll get stronger and gain more weight if I want to play 5."

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks appear to have no plans to letting go of the triangle strategy. With the entrance of former Los Angeles Lakers star Sasha Vujacic in the New York Knicks roster, Phil Jackson feels that NBA star will be able to help teach the rest of the New York Knicks the scheme. He shared, "Having played for me in L.A., Sasha knows the triangle and can help our off-guards get the hang of playing on top of the floor."
