The Denver Broncos are gearing up for the NFL regular season. With the acquisition of Evan Mathis late in the NFL offseason, the Denver Broncos opted to not let the Pro Bowler participate in any of the preseason matches and instructed him to concentrate on how to take full advantage of his skills in terms of assisting Peyton Manning win the Super Bowl this season. Hence, the former Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard will be seen by the Denver Broncos fans in action for the first time in Peyton Manning's team's game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday (September 13) at 4:25 pm ET.

Although the fact that Evan Mathis came in too late in the Denver Broncos locker room might alarm fans and followers of the team, it looks like the Pro Bowler is not necessarily worried over his limited adjustment period. In fact, the former Philadelphia Eagles star is quite confident over his ability to master the gameplays and strategies of the Denver Broncos. In an interview with AL.com, Evan Mathis admitted that the younger version of himself would have been overwhelmed by the preparations necessary to fit in the Denver Broncos roster. However, the Pro Bowler shared that his years in the NFL have taught him to learn quickly. Evan Mathis further pointed out that he now has the "confidence" and the "sense of urgency" to not waste time worrying about the job but instead, to simply "get it done."

"It's really not that hard," stated the former Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard, referring to the playbook of the Denver Broncos. The NFL star went on to say, "There's a lot of overlap for me. So I've seen, schematically, versions of everything that we do at one point in my career, whether it be college or the many offenses I've played in the pros. It's just cramming."

Describing his efforts to understand the Denver Broncos strategies, Evan Mathis said, "You sit there and you study and you learn it. But if you were to count how many plays it was, it's not an outlandish number. Like if we're going to sit here and learn our times tables or learn 40 or 50 words in a different language, if you just study a few hours a day for a few days, you're going to have most of it down."

Meanwhile, another Denver Broncos star needs to learn new things this NFL season. In an interview with ESPN, star quarterback Peyton Manning shared that he now sees the need to become more familiar and closer to the younger players in the Denver Broncos roster. "I understand it's different for me now, and I understand I need to be more conscious of it, work at it, understand it," shared Peyton Manning, citing the necessity for him to try to relate with the new stars included in the Denver Broncos.
