The Philadelphia Eagles have been eyeing better ways to implement the unique strategies and gameplay head coach Chip Kelly has in mind. With former Dallas Cowboys star DeMarco Murray gradually showing off the skills that had the Eagles knocking at his door prior to the NFL regular season, Sam Bradford and his football squad are looking to bag another victory following their win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.

To presumably boost the roster of the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL team opted to sign Tanner Hawkinson. The offensive linesman was last spotted in the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers this season. In an effort to accommodate the entry of the newly minted Philadelphia Eagles OL in the roster, the NFL bumped off center/guard Julian Vandervelde.

With the addition of Tanner Hawkinson into the Philadelphia Eagles roster, the total linemen in the NFL team now reach eight. As per reports, the starting five will now include center Jason Kelce, tackles Lane Johnson and Jason Peters, and guards Allen Barbre and Matt Robin. Tanner Hawkinson will be part of the reserve list alongside Josh Andrews and Dennis Kelly.

Sources claim that the 6'5" offensive lineman has managed to gain the nickname "Ricky Bobby" due to his strong physical similarities with the character of Will Farrell in the film "Talladega Nights," according to NJ.com.

Tanner Hawkinson played with the Cincinnati Bengals following the 2013 NFL Draft where he was the fifth round pick of the said football team. However, his run with the Cincinnati Bengals fell short from expectations as he was only managed to play three football games with the NFL team. The Cincinnati Bengals then cut Tanner Hawkinson from the team on September 5.

Following this move, the San Francisco 49ers saw potential in the offensive lineman and signed him up for the practice squad. This proved to be not a good fit as the San Francisco 49ers eventually let go of Tanner Hawkinson after the NFL star spent time with them in the first five weeks of the regular season. It remains to be seen if the Philadelphia Eagles will be a more permanent gig for the former San Francisco 49ers hopeful.

Following their victory over the New Orleans Saints, the Philadelphia Eagles will be facing off against the New York Giants on Monday (October 19). Scheduled at 8:30 pm ET, the Philadelphia Eagles will play host to the New York Giants at the Lincoln Financial Field.
