NFL Rumors: Baltimore Ravens’ Breshad Perriman’s in Danger of Getting Cut Due to Poor Performance

After starting strong during the first couple of weeks of the 2016 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens are now looking at a four-game losing street. The sudden dip in the team's record has been blamed on its offense, particularly on the disappointing performance of Breshad Perriman.

Perriman officially joined the Ravens as a first round draft pick in 2015. However, ever since he joined the team, he has been a disappointing member of the Ravens. For instance, he spend most of his rookie year on injured reserve. In addition, for this season, he only has 14 catches for 183 yards.

However, this doesn't automatically mean that he is not a talented player. After all, he wouldn't be the 26th overall pick last year if he has nothing to show for it.
During his first regular game as a professional football player, he was able to secure a 35-yard catch. Then, about two weeks ago, he caught a 41-yard pass. But, perhaps it is because of these rare moments that make Perriman a very frustrating player for the Baltimore organization.

As noted by head coach John Harbaugh, he and the front office are aware of Perriman's talent. However, they just couldn't see it in his overall performance during games. The coach even admitted that he has been growing impatient regarding Perriman's lackluster plays.

"I told him, ‘I just am impatient. You have all this talent, and there is a lot to learn, but I just want to speed the curve up,'" he said. "Obviously, he said that he could not agree more. We just have to keep chasing it. It is going to happen, and let's try to make it happen sooner rather than later."

When Perriman joined the Ravens in 2015, he signed a four-year contract worth $8.7 million with a $4.6 million signing bonus. However, given his current performance, the Ravens might start to feel that he's just not worth it. Eventually, this could drive the team to seek trade options for Perriman or just simply release him from the roster. Hopefully, he will be able to pick up his game after the bye week when the Ravens take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
