The Carolina Panthers faced a heartbreaking loss in the hands of the Denver Broncos when the Cam Newton team fell short in the Super Bowl last season. Following a football season that had them almost achieve a perfectly undefeated record, the Michael Oher squad was earlier pegged as potential champions. However, the Carolina Panthers later on proved to be no match for the leadership of both Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler. Will adding Johnny Manziel to the team boost their Super Bowl chances this year?

The Johnny Football mania has died down ever since the former Cleveland Browns star started getting tangled with issues off the gridiron. While fans of the quarterback hoped he would eventually grow tired of his partying, the situation only got worse. At the moment, the famed Johnny Manziel remains unemployed with no NFL team raring to sign him for the regular season.

However, rumors are rife that the former Heisman Trophy winner might just see his luck turn this preseason. Speculations point to the possibility of the Carolina Panthers signing Johnny Manziel to a minimum contract. Can Johnny Football be the backup who can help Cam Newton bring home the Super Bowl trophy this NFL season? Can they match the teamwork that helped Brock Osweiler and Peyton Manning win the ultimate prize against all odds?

The answer remains unclear. At this point, there is no official comment from the parties involved regarding the potential NFL deal. However, fans of the Carolina Panthers appear open to the possibility of a Johnny Manziel minimum contract in an effort to provide a support system for the valiant Cam Newton.

While this possibility seems exciting for Johnny Football, some of his friends appear to be losing hope on his recovery and potential NFL return. Despite his unemployment, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback seems unperturbed by the situation. Multiple reports even note that Johnny Manziel has been spotted drinking and hanging out in bars as of late.

"I don't know if it's even worth discussing," said Ryan Leaf of the future of Johnny Manziel in the NFL. The former San Diego Chargers quarterback added, "We've offered our help, a lot of people have, he's simply just not interested until he's gonna - until he needs to be."

What do you think? Will Johnny Manziel be able to turn his life around once he convinces an NFL team to sign him this season? Should the Carolina Panthers take the risk of signing Johnny Football as a Cam Newton backup?
