Things are not looking well for the Cleveland Browns because aside from their losing streak, the team also recently lost wide receiver Terrelle Pryor to a hamstring injury. This could force the team to promote Josh Boyce from the practice squad or sign someone from free agency.

Pryor suffered the injury during the Week 6 game against the Tennessee Titans. Given the nature of his current condition, he will most likely miss the upcoming Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Although the Browns have a deep bench for their wide receivers, losing Pryor still delivers a huge blow since he is one of the team's best playmakers and go-to guy. For the next few games, the Browns can alleviate this issue by promoting Boyce to the active roster.

Boyce first signed with the Browns in August of this year before he was waived a couple of days later. Then, in September, he was signed again for the team's practice squad.

Getting promoted from the practice squad into active roster is nothing new for Boyce since he already went through a similar situation back when he was with the New England Patriots. When he first signed with the tram in 2014, he spent most of his time in the practice squad. However, after Alfonzo Dennard suffered a season-ending injury, Boyce was placed on the active roster as a replacement.

In the case of the Browns, Boyce could soon find himself in a similar situation. Of course, placing him on the active roster will be a temporary move until Pryor returns.

However, since Pryor already has a history with his hamstring issue, this recurring injury could turn into a big problem for the Browns especially if it gets aggravated. If this happens, then Cleveland will have no other choice but to turn to a more permanent solution to replace Pryor.

For this, the team will most probably turn to the free agency market or look for good trade options for a wide receiver. But then again, this will depend on Boyce's performance. If he turns out to be a breakout star, then he could be an official replacement for Pryor.
