So far, the Cleveland Browns are still winless in the 2016 NFL season but aside from that, they are also struggling with their current quarterback situation. Following the injury of Cody Kessler at Week 5, the team could look to signing free agent Tarvaris Jackson.

The season started pretty rough for the Browns. After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles at Week 5, the team lost starting quarterback Robert Griffin III to a shoulder injury. This prompted the team to promote Josh McCown to take over the passing duties.

However, after playing at Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, McCown also suffered an injury to his shoulder. Since then, third-stringer Kessler has been holding down the Browns' fort. But, after the second quarter of last Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, Kessler entered the locker room with injuries to his chest and ribs. This left Cleveland with no other choice but to play newcomer Charlie Whitehurst, who was eventually released by the team earlier this week.

Based on their current situation, it's probably safe that the Browns are having a really bad season and are in desperate need to find a quarterback. Currently, all they have left is Kevin Hogan, who, just a few days ago, was a member of the team's practice squad. On Oct. 11, he was promoted to the active roster due to the team's lack of quarterbacks.

Even with Hogan on the line, the situation is still bad for Cleveland. What they need is a veteran quarterback who can take charge on the field and has enough experience to lead the team to victory. Jackson, who has been with the NFL since 2006, certainly has these traits that could turn around the Browns' current situation.

Currently, Jackson is a free agent. But before that, he was a member of the Seattle Seahawks. During his first year with the team, he was a backup to Russell Wilson. Despite being the No. 2 QB, he was able to play in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos when he replaced Wilson at the fourth quarter.

This marked the first time in 13 years that a backup QB played in the Super Bowl. Furthermore, Jackson was able to hold down the Seahawks' offense to win the championship event.
