NFL Rumors: Dallas Cowboys in Danger This Season After Losing Barry Church and Mo Claiborne to Injuries

It seems the luck of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL season has run out after two of its members suffered serious injuries during the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Based on the current conditions of safety Barry Church and cornerback Mo Claiborne, the Cowboys might have to go through the rest of the year without its two defensive players.

During the match on Sunday, which ended in an overtime win for the Cowboys, Church suffered a broken arm while Claiborne received what seems to be a sports hernia injury. These injuries will have a significant effect on the Cowboys' defense since both players are starters.

Coach Jason Garrett had already said that Church and Claiborne will be out for a couple of weeks. However, depending on their condition and recovery, there's a chance that they might miss out on the rest of the year with the Dallas franchise.

Their absence could mark the end of the Cowboys' winning streak. Currently, they are one of the best teams in the NFL with a record of 7 wins and 1 loss. But, without Church and Claiborne, this could all change. There's even a chance that they might even lose to the win-less Cleveland Browns at Week 9.

Since Church and Claiborne will be out for a couple of weeks, Garrett had already appointed J.J. Wilcox and Orlando Scandrick as their respective replacements. Aside from these players, the team also has other backup athlete who could serve as replacements in case these guys get injured too. This includes Leon McFadden, a cornerback who's currently in the Cowboys' practice squad.

"You certainly want to start with the guys we have here," Garret said. "Leon McFadden is a guy we picked up last week and he's made a good impression on us, so we'll see how those guys do. We'll have some discussions over the next couple of days as to what our best course is."

Hopefully though, Church and Claiborne will be able to recover quickly from their injuries since the Cowboys need them to continue their momentum this year.
