Following the bye week, the Dallas Cowboys held their practice session but without quarterback Tony Romo primarily due to the back injury he suffered during the preseason. Due to his long absence, and the fact that his backup Dak Prescott was able to successfully carry the team to a five-game winning streak, the Cowboys could soon decide to play Romo on the trading block.

Although Romo was not able to fully participate during the practice, he was still able to throw a couple of passes to his teammates before the session began. This, at least, shows that Romo can be active enough without aggravating his back injury.

However, since he has not yet been given the clearance to play, it seems Romo could be out for a couple of more weeks or even for the rest of the 2016 NFL season. But aside from this, even if he fully recovers and makes it back to the field, the Cowboys might not make a change to their quarterback roster.

In other words, even if Romo makes a comeback, the Dallas franchise might still stick with Prescott. After all, despite losing the Week 1 game against the New York Giants, Prescott was able to maintain great intuition in throwing his passes throughout majority of the season.

If the Cobwoys decide to stick with Romo, and with veteran QB Mark Sanchez as his backup, the team might realize that they no longer need Romo in the lineup. This could then lead the team to seek trade options for the athlete.

A team that could benefit from a trade with the Cowboys for Romo are the Denver Broncos, according to Fan Sided. Currently, the team is doing pretty OK with Trevor Siemian at the starting spot but having a veteran such as Romo to either lead the team or serve as a mentor to the young athlete could boost the Broncos' offense.

In exchange, the Dallas organization could ask for Denver's outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware to improve their defense. Although the Cowboys' offensive plays are good, they'll be able to transform their selves into a holistic team with a solid defense.
