After missing three weeks due to an injured knee, Dez Bryant might not be able to join the rest of the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles after cutting his hand while making a bowl of soup. Although Bryant had already noted that his latest injury was just a minor one, it was still serious enough to prevent him from catching properly during the team's practice session.

According to Bryant, he was slicing carrots for a homemade soup when he accidentally cut his two right fingers. On Wednesday, he attended practice with the team with his fingers bandaged up.

He maintained that his wounds are not serious and promised to be on the field when the Cowboys take on the Eagles after the bye week. However, this may not happen given his poor performance during the practice.

According to Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, although Bryant was able to move around well at training, the wide receiver failed to catch passes.

"Yeah, he's got a cut on the inside of his hand so he wasn't able to catch balls today," he said. "He did a good job moving around, though. I think he's feeling better and better and better."

Although Bryant's wounds will eventually heal before the match against the Eagles, the Cowboys are probably getting fed up with how careless he is. A few weeks ago, Bryant made made a controversial move after injury his knee when he refused to show up for medical checks.

This type of attitude could push the Dallas organization to eventually release him from the active roster. Aside from waiving him, they could also do this via trade to get a more effective wide receiver in return.

Either way, the Cowboys are doing a pretty good job in his absence. Currently, the team holding on to a record of five wins with only one loss.

Although the victories are obviously a team effort, many are attributing the Cowboys' wins to starting quarterback Dak Prescott, who is currently serving as the replacement of Tony Romo after he suffered a back injury during the preseason.
