The Washington Redskins are starting to build up their momentum in the 2016 NFL season but the team could soon lose its top wide receiver DeSean Jackson next offseason to the free agency market. But, once he becomes unrestricted, there's a good chance that he might end up with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Before becoming a member of the Redskins in 2014, Jackson spent the majority of his career as a wide receiver for the Philadelphia franchise. When he first debuted in the NFL in 2008, he was drafted by the Eagles during the 2nd round, making him the 49th overall pick.

In total, he spent about five years with the team and received a franchise tag from the Eagles in 2012. However, after the 2013 season, which was regarded as the best year in his career with the NFL, the Eagles made a surprising move and released him from the roster in March 2014.

A month later, he was picked up by the Redskins after signing a three-year contract worth $24 million. Once this season ends, Jackson will become a free agent. As noted by the athlete, it is still too early to tell where he'll end up next during the offseason.

"Next year being a free agent, you never know what might happen in this business," Jackson said. "Who knows how things might work out."

Given the way he's playing this season, it won't come as a surprise if Jackson immediately gets various offers from other teams next year. He could even join the Eagles for a second term, a team that Jackson and the rest of the Redskins will be facing at Week 6.

Placing him on the Philadelphia roster would be an interesting move since it will definitely boost the team's WR bench. Furthermore, with him in the lineup, quarterback Chase Daniels, or even Carson Wentz, will have another go-to guy on the field.

But then again, these are just based on speculations since the Redskins could decide on offering him a contract extension next year, which is exactly what Jackson is hoping for.

"Hopefully, I'll still be in Washington," he said. "But you never know how things work out."
