NFL Rumors: Jacksonville Jaguars Planning To Release Myles Jack?

After debuting in the NFL as the No. 36 overall pick at the 2016 draft, Jacksonville Jaguars fans expected that Myles Jack will immediately see action on the field. However, following Week 3 of the season, the linebacker has not yet played full minutes with the team.

Prior to the draft, Jack was expected to be a top 10 pick. However, after admitting that his knee has degenerative aspects, his draft potential suddenly dropped.

Although he was picked during the second round, this doesn't mean that Jack is not a talented player. On the contrary, he still has the athleticism to help his team win games. However, since he hasn't seen any action yet, there have been rumors about the Jaguars planning to release Jack.

According to these rumors, it seems Jack did not turn out to be the athlete that the Jaguars were expecting, which is also connected to the reason why they are not using him in games.

However, as recently revealed by coach Gus Bradley, the reason why Jack has not yet seen any action on the field is because the team is training him to handle the Otto position, which is a strong linebacker.

"He's getting better and we're putting a lot on his plate," the coach said. "I would say the last two weeks he has really grown. He's really grown as far as being in shape and handling all the duties that we are asking for him."

Hopefully though, Jack will be able to make an impressions once he gets the clearance to play. Currently, the Jaguars are in serious need of changes in their lineup to improve their record. So far, the Jacksonville franchise has not yet won a single game when the regular season started.

Bradley also revealed that Jack was supposed to play in Week 3, when the Jaguars faced the Baltimore Ravens. However, the team decided against it and still went with their veteran linebackers. It is not yet clear if Jack will debut in Week 4 for the game against the Indianapolis Colts.

"He understands that those guys in front of him are playing well, but we've got to find a way to get him on the grass," Todd Wash, the defensive coordinator of the Jaguars said about Jack. "I don't think anything's top secret. I just think there are other positions he can play on our defense besides [middle] and [weak-side linebacker]."
