The legal matter that finds New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the middle, dubbed as the "Deflategate" scandal, has placed the NFL team in an uncertain situation wherein their star player appears to be on the edge of missing out on a number of games this coming 2015 NFL regular season. With the "Deflategate" scandal starting from way back last year when the New England Patriots faced the Indianapolis Colts, NFL Commission Roger Goodell has made good of his promise to punish those who participated in the alleged cheating.

With such promise, the NFL bosses eventually found New England Patriots star Tom Brady to possibly have had a hand at the "Deflategate" scandal - a premise that the quarterback and his team vehemently deny. Hence, the suspension order issued against the New England Patriots star did not sit well for both Tom Brady and his NFL team. Armed with their resistance to admit the charges, the New England Patriots slammed the decision made by the NFL committee which eventually escalated the football matter to the court. Even with the intervention of the legal experts, however, no resolution could be seen anytime soon, according to CBS Sports.

The pending legal obligations of Tom Brady now puts the New England Patriots in a difficult situation. The lack of a lead quarterback would definitely weaken the stance of the NFL team - and that is where backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo comes in.

Following the win of the New England Patriots over the Carolina Panthers on Week 3 of the 2015 NFL Preseason last Friday, the victorious NFL team now sees the entry of Jimmy Garoppolo to the starters' lineup. The absence of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has made this opportunity completely viable to Jimmy Garoppolo, whom sports analysts pegged as a rising star in the NFL team's roster. Should the "Deflategate" scandal drag on, then fans and followers of the New England Patriots could expect Jimmy Garoppolo to be more visibible this upcoming 2015 NFL regular season.

"On a day that quarterback Tom Brady returns to court for another round of settlement talks, the Patriots practice for the first time since Friday's 17-16 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers," observed Mike Reiss of ESPN's NFL Nation. Reiss added, "That means more work for Jimmy Garoppolo, who talked about his "good fortune" that Carolina didn't intercept two passes Friday that he said should have never been thrown." In a separate report, Reiss shared that Jimmy Garoppolo showed "obvious strides in his second year" with the New England Patriots.
